ศาลท้าวมหาพรหมเอราวัณ
Erawan Shrine
From chaos to clarity — the story behind the shrine
In 1956, construction of the original Erawan Hotel ground to a halt under a cloud of accidents and unexplained setbacks. Experts recommended inviting Brahma to preside over the site. The result was immediate — construction resumed without incident. That single act of faith transformed a hotel corner into one of Asia's most revered spiritual coordinates.
“People from Hong Kong, Singapore, and China fly here specifically — not as tourists, but as believers.”
What Presides Here
A single supreme deity — not a pantheon. Tens of thousands of devotees arrive daily, drawn by one focused divine presence at the heart of the city.
Brahma (ท้าวมหาพรหม)
The Creator deity in Hindu belief — 4 faces (พักตร์) facing four directions, 8 arms (กร) each holding a different sacred weapon. His presence channels creation, opportunity, and the power to remove obstacles.
Why People Come — & What to Ask For
Brahma at Ratchaprasong is renowned for granting comprehensive petitions. People arrive with career crossroads, financial problems, and life blocks — seeking targeted asks, not vague hope.
All-Encompassing Wishes
Outstanding for career advancement, financial growth, overall life success, and fortune — especially when multiple areas need to move forward simultaneously.
The 4-Face Belief
Each face governs a distinct domain: career & study · finance & property · health & family · fortune & luck. Many devotees ask one specific wish per face.
Don't Miss This
Chatra Dance (ละครชาตรีแก้บน)
Traditional Thai classical dance performed throughout the day as a living offering to Brahma — one of Bangkok's most authentic ritual art experiences.
Wooden Elephant Offering
The shrine's signature vow fulfilment: carved wooden elephants placed around the perimeter symbolise prestige, power, and gratitude.
The Skywalk Shot
Head up to the BTS Skywalk for a top-down view of Brahma surrounded by glass towers and rail lines — faith in the modern city, captured perfectly.
The 4 Faces — Your Direction Map
Walk clockwise. Begin at the front (north) face and complete all four. Each face carries a distinct intention — match yours to the correct direction.
Career & Study
For exams, job applications, promotions, and academic success.
Property & Debt
For clearing debts, real estate matters, and resolving financial tangles.
Health & Family
For peaceful home life, good health, and lasting family harmony.
Finance & Fortune
For wealth attraction, investment returns, and general financial luck.
What to Prepare
Eco Note
The shrine now promotes placing (not lighting) incense and candles to reduce PM 2.5. Your focused intention carries more weight than the quantity of offerings.
Standard Offering Set
- 4 marigold garlands
- 12 incense sticks (3 per face)
- 4 candles — buy inside the shrine from 50 THB to get standard pricing and support the foundation fund

MUUU Insight: Pro Chanting Tips
Chant at Each Face
Recite the full prayer at every face as you walk clockwise. After finishing each face, set a specific intention for what that face governs — this keeps your focus sharp and your wish clear.
The Hidden Meaning
Chanting to Brahma is an act of welcoming his four divine qualities — compassion, kindness, empathy, and equanimity — into your heart. This alignment is what allows him to grant your wish.
When Your Wish Comes True
Two signature vow-fulfilment offerings: Chatra dance (ละครชาตรี) — contact the performance counter inside the shrine (2, 4, 6, or 8 dancers available). Or bring a carved wooden elephant to place around the shrine, symbolising prestige and protection. Brahma's blessing multiplies when positive energy flows outward.

No Spitting or Littering
